Nominated for Best Actress at the Richmond Film Network Indie Fest

Directed by D.J. Higgins and produced by Meet Mario Productions, the film introduces Monica and Jimmy Zhou as they awkwardly "celebrate" their 10th anniversary. Instead of a romantic setting, they sit at their kitchen table with takeout pizza, cheap wine, and a cake that symbolizes unspoken tension. The film opens with an unsettling atmosphere, where their intense silence highlights the emotional chasm between them. The camera captures the tension in Jimmy and Monica's relationship, prompting viewers to question Jimmy's hidden secrets and his transformation into a stranger. Monica's gaze, filled with hurt and desperation, silently urges him to reveal the truth. As the story unfolds, the audience explores the complexities of their decade-long marriage, marked by a love overshadowed by resentment and unmet expectations. The film examines themes of communication and trust, highlighting the couple's disconnection and leaving viewers to ponder whether they can overcome their issues or remain trapped in silence and misunderstanding.
